Manufacturing Process

Where advanced CNC technology meets the centuries-old craftsmanship of Sialkot.

THE STEPWIN STANDARD

From Raw Steel to Precision Instrument

Our ISO-certified manufacturing process is designed to eliminate variance. Every instrument that leaves our facility is built to perform flawlessly under pressure.

Material Selection & Testing
PHASE 01

Material Selection & Testing

We select and test premium medical-grade stainless steel (304, 410, 420, 440) imported from Japan and France. Samples undergo chemical analysis and hardness testing to verify mill certifications before starting production.

Forging
PHASE 02

Forging

Stainless steel bars are heated and drop-forged using heavy machinery. This crucial step aligns the internal grain structure of the metal, maximizing tensile strength, durability, and fracture resistance.

Milling
PHASE 03

Milling

The forged blanks are milled, shaped, and machined using high-precision CNC multi-axis machines. This computer-controlled process ensures complex geometries are cut with extreme accuracy (±0.05mm tolerance).

Heat Treatment
PHASE 04

Heat Treatment

Instruments undergo thermal hardening and tempering in advanced vacuum furnaces. This process achieves the exact Rockwell Hardness (HRC) required for specific functions (e.g. 50-54 HRC for scissor cutting edges).

Surface Grinding/polishing
PHASE 05

Surface Grinding/polishing

Highly skilled Sialkot craftsmen use specialized abrasive wheels and belts to grind and polish each instrument, achieving a flawless satin, matte, or mirror finish while removing surface imperfections.

Passivation
PHASE 06

Passivation

Instruments undergo electrochemical passivation in a nitric or citric acid bath. This removes free iron from the surface, creating a protective chromium oxide barrier layer that ensures maximum corrosion resistance.

Final QC
PHASE 07

Final QC

Every single instrument is manually inspected for alignment, function, tension, and finish. Rigorous boil tests and copper sulfate testing are performed to verify perfect rust resistance.

Packing
PHASE 08

Packing

All approved instruments undergo final cleaning and are individually packaged in protective, export-grade materials with clear barcoding and documentation, ready for global shipping.
